Ok guys,
I'm bulding a purple heart take down flat bow using the socket and sleeve principle. I want to introdue a little reflex when gluing on the backing. This bow will be 50lbs @28 inches 68 inches nock to nock 1.5 inches wide at the fades now here comes the question.
I have two choices available for the backing......
1. A ordinary piece of bamboo. (I've had good results with this stuff)

or

2. A 1.5 inch wide piece of lemonwood which is ring biased but with straight grain on to which I intend to further back with black silk.

I'm leaning in favour of option 2 what do you all think?
Bring me my bow of burning gold!
Bring me my arrows of desire!

Not lemonwood, bamboo or hickory.
Rod.
It's meant to be simple, not easy.

lemonwood is not very good in tension at all, , So bamboo will be the best bet
