Competition needs to be broader. Infrastructure is required. ...the PK is relativity strong...we need to start consolidating our tax man money to service oriented investments. ISP is a good example. PNG need a jump start telikom... it promotes a baseline for competition. This means longer term we can outsource the complaints regarding service, reception and cost to the service providers that offer PNGeans value for money based on budget.... Telikom needs finessing..we don't need foreign investments to tell us how to run our Telco services.

Please share with us your evidence that PNG has one of the highest internet costs in the world.

I realise we don't have one of the cheapest internet access. But we're far from being one of the highest, if you compare us against many African and even central Asian nations whose telicommunications networks are still quite poor.

So where did you get your so-called fact?

Lowest average price in PNG + 20 Toea per megabyte or 9 cents AUD at the current exchange rate of .45

Lowest average price in Australia = .00003 cents per megabyte

That means our price per megabyte is 300,000 times higer than Australia.

Talk about a cash cow.

To even think about disputing this then you must have a vested interest within the current PNG internet regime.

You seem to conveniently forget that virtually all australians are paying a monthly charge in addition to any megabyte charge. Not in PNG.
