the Port Moresby General Hospital maternity ward needs to be investigated. There are only 8 student registrars working over 36 hours on call every third day. Sad day for PNG health system

Working 36 hours is not good. But they are not students; you make it sound like they are nonprofessionals. In fact they are senior doctors getting enough experience in short 4 years to become specialists. Talk to you government, minister and see who you vote in. It is the way it is for now. Unless foolish PM and his group of fools become less foolish.

your voices are loud but not loud enough. At least mothers in PMGH labour ward have someone to attend to them. dont forget there are also nurses. how about the mothers in the villages who have nobody to take care of them during labour. nobody hears their cries and that of their dying children.
it is a poor health system in deed but i can assure you that health workers are the most committed and sacrificed public servants you will ever find.

mate. just stop and think about what you wrote. its stupid. it may be for you but for others life is not all about money. being a health worker is one of the most humanely rewarding jobs one can have.

No wonder most doctors have a very boring life with most female doctors been single mothers and the males end up in divorces..

sympathise for them but thats their choice of profession so hope everything turns out right for them with the government listening to their plight.
