Ok _ i need some advice as It seems I have gotten into a bit of an IVF trouble.

Recently I have done 1 antagonist cycle, doing 150 menopure/300 gonal f. I get a lot of follicles - 10 and then the none of them take the bait of the drugs and end up 1 follicle and convert with an IUI.

This last month I have done a microdose flare - long session on the BCP - and 300 Gonal F. This time I had 9 follicles, ( i did do estrogen priming, which seems to bring on the follicles) and today after stimulating for 12 days, I have 1 follicle at 10, all the rest are just sitting there. ( last year this protocol worked every time, with a miscarriage and I made my daughter on this protocol - she is now 2)

What I need is some advice.

WHATS HAPPENING TO ME!!!

my doctor thinks its old eggs - which i dont believe.

I have thought I might have been doing far to much IVF, drugs etc and my body has become tired, or resistant to the stimulations.

Or is it the end of the road for IVF for me. Do I try lower stims? mini's ?( cant take clomid - makes me crazy) or try natural altogether.

Feeling very bummed, any insight to this condition most welcome.

I have been told to lower my dose to 150 , but I honestly dont feel like pouring any more drugs and energy into 1 follicle at 10mm.

ps - dose anyone know if CCRM do low stims?

looking forward to hearing/reading any information.

Hi,

I'm no expert in any of this but here are my thoughts since you did both BCP's and an estrogen priming protocol this cycle. When I first started on these boards and before my first IVF cycle there was lots of talk of people with similar results to yours being oversuppressed by both BCP's and estrogen. As such, I told my Dr. at the start that I would not do an EPP with BCP's although this was standard. Instead, I did EPP starting with Lupron on CD 21 the cycle before and have NEVER used BCP's in an IVF cycle and have not experienced over-supression. Perhaps you should get rid of the BCP's next time. Maybe it is because you are older this no longer works for you. Keep in mind, many others on this board are much more technically knowledgeable than I, so I would go with what they say, but these are just my thought on this. I hope you figure it out.

My body gets oversuppressed just on estrogen priming. I know it is a gamble to not do any type of suppression, because we do tend to get early dominants....but perhaps try no suppression in luteal phase before a cycle and see how that CD 2 or 3 u/s looks. I hated clomid too, but didn't have any side affects on Femara. My body always did well on a Femara/injectible/ganarelix protocol. Here is a good article on it. http://www.infertilityspecialist.com/letrozole.html

Good luck! I know how frustrating it can be to have a long stalled stim cycle. That doesn't mean your next cycle won't be great. I found each month to be a complete crap shoot.

xoxo, Tracy
