SCOTLAND: The Boys on the Ice: a sad story about Scottish emigration

I read this story today on the BBC news website. It's a sad story about some Scottish stowaways on a boat to Canada in 1868. It's an interesting story though and so I thought perhaps some of you would like to read it.

I saw that on the BBC website but skipped it.  Thanks for pointing out the Scotland connection, which made me go read it.  :-)  What an amazing story.  That ship's mate was a sadist; he should've gotten more prison time for torturing those boys, imho.
