Hello,  I am an older lady who recently came across the Outlander Books.  I have taken my book with me to a hospital appointment only to find someone else there reading an Outlander book - the lady came and introduced herself and we discussed Outlander.  At one of the clubs to which I belong someone saw my book and commented, "Oh! Jane reads those!"  Taking my book under my arm seems to make me friends and acquaintances. Seriously, though, I have read all the Outlander books twice and now think of myself as a bit of an addict.  Apart from that, what I am is an Astrologer.  I was drawn in to this forum by finding Claire and Jamie's horoscopes on the net but although I can find the posts regarding this, I cannot find the actual charts.  I am just doing these myself and do not want to tread on any ones toes.  I would like to see these charts before I come charging in with my thoughts.  Apart from this I do my garden, give my daughter advice about her garden and I do embroidered pictures.  I belong to my local U3A and organise theatre trips and do their monthly newsletter for them.    I have a dog who speaks English with her eyes and the set of her ears.  She tells me when she requires a walk and I have to comply.  My life was primary concerned with astrology - I run an Astrology group which meets once a month - but now it is vying with Outlander - what has happened to me?    Well, that's it.  Dog is making signals!  Greatram.

Welcome greatram!  So glad you've joined us.  It's great that you've met other Outlander fans simply by having your book with you.  And, you've come to the right place as an Outlander addict.  ;-)

There are horoscopes for Jamie and Claire in the Outlandish Companion Volume 1.  Not sure if they are exactly what you have been working on, but you can find them there.

You said you read all the books, but have you also read the Lord John books and stories as well as the other short pieces that add to the Outlander world?  If so, we're doing a group read, two chapters per week, of Lord John and the Brotherhood of the Blade right now and you are welcome to join us.  If you have any questions, feel free to ask any moderator, called Clan Fraser with names in red, and we'll try to help.

I look forward to chatting with you!

Hello Greatram -- welcome! I've also had some great experiences with strangers simply because of holding Outlander books. Years ago, I was on a cruise with my family and spotted the cover of Dragonfly in Amber from across the deck. My husband made fun of me, but I had to go over and say hello and ended up having a terrific exchange with another fan. :)

Looking forward to chatting with you about these wonderful books!

Hello, Greatram, and welcome to the OBC. What a wonderful way to make friends! I hope you continue to meet new Outlander fans in real life, in addition to all of us here on the OBC.

Thanks for giving me such a great welcome.

Looking further into these horoscopes I think they were pre 2009 so that may be the reason I can't find them;   Outlander Companion Volume I seems to contain only the posts.  Anyway, not to worry as I have decided not to do a straight horoscope of Jamie but to see what it is that draws Claire almost 203yrs to him; her husband is not strong enough to hold her back.

Yes I  have read all these books twice but I find there is a myriad of small detail that is relevant  to present and future plots that has just sailed over my head so that a second or even third read will not come amiss.  I have not yet read any of the Lord John books but I will soon.  Greatram

The thread on this board about the horoscopes is just a discussion thread about the horoscopes that appear in the book Outlandish Companion.  If you want to see the whole horoscopes, you probably need to get the book (unless they are posted somewhere online, but they are certainly not on this board, and I don't know that they are available anywhere else online either).

Thanks for that, at least I know.  Curiosity firmly aroused I will get the book today.   Greatram.

Welcome greatram.  Glad that you joined the OBC.  I'm sure you'll enjoy the site; there are a lot of us who travel with our OL books.  So fun that you made friends by going about with your book.  You'll make lots of friends here, to be sure.

Happy posting!

Hello again.   I am ready to publish my astrological piece on Claire and Jamie.  Exactly how do I do this.  Greatram

You can post your astrological piece on Claire and Jamie in the Fraser Character Forum here.  Just start a new thread (or two if you want it separate for Claire and for Jamie) in that subforum and post it.

Well, thankyou for trying to help me but it seems not possible.  I can post my article fine but  I cannot post the charts in the article.  There are spaces where they go but no charts.  The article is no good without the charts.  It may not be the fault of the Outlander Book Club,  Internet Explorer told me that it was blocking some content so I changed  to Firefox but no joy.  Sorry to put you to so much trouble.  Greatram

Hmmm.  Not sure if there's a way to make the charts post.  I'll ask the other members of Clan Fraser and see if anyone knows more than I do, but this is beyond my knowledge.

Greatram, what type of format are the charts? If you can save them as image files (such as jpeg), then you should be able to upload them to the post.
