Yes it does, but the annoying part is having my race paused as it boots me back to desktop. I click "Ignore" and then reopen Revolt and a bunch of people have passed me. I have enough trouble winning a race.Skarma @ Oct 17 2012, 12:05 AM wrote:You know, clicking the ignore button makes it go away...
This is not about central server, but a problem with the account validation. In this case it means RVZT did not answer. Does Zach has any idea, has there been some problems recently in the server?Phantom @ Nov 27 2012, 03:54 AM wrote:1. Nicknames in red color because the central server didn't respond when users log in. One day we had half of the users in red color.
It's a wonder it has even worked this long. The P2P network used (by KadC library) is Overnet. Those old enough may remember eDonkey filesharing network. Overnet was eDonkey's P2P. Due to the nature of P2P networks, the less people using it the harder to join is, and I'd imagine the amount of people using eDonkey nowadays is quite small.2. Not being able to connect to P2P Network. This problem is happening more frequently now than ever did according to the people reporting, also for me.
As I wrote above, KadC should be replaced. Fixing KadC is probably more effort than it's worth since it should be replaced anyway.3. The famouse Kadc.ini crashing RV House problem. Which doesn't let you login unless you remove it from RV House/conf but this quick-fix doesn't fix the problem permanently.
No idea. I am actually quite surprised that I still have access to this server as I thought I only had 1 years free hosting at Surftown. Well, that 1 year ran out almost a year ago but fortunately for RV House the hosting doesn't seem to have stopped. That's a whole other subject though.arto wrote:Does Urnemanden have any idea why the centralized server wouldn't handle the load now?
I have not experienced issues with connecting to the server myself and do not know if those who cannot connect to the server are the same IP adresses or if it really is based upon how many already are connected to the server.Phantom wrote:Those people connected to P2P only are the ones in light blue, right?
Well, we see people in light blue sometimes as you can see in this picture:
Urne still didn't say anything if his server had any problems, I doubt he knows about this yet.
Whoa, RV House does really have some lucky touch, doesn't it? ^^Urnemanden wrote:I am actually quite surprised that I still have access to this server as I thought I only had 1 years free hosting at Surftown. I was planning to wait until next RV House release, but since it seems that will take more than expected I might make a pre-release before.Urnemanden wrote:PS: @Phantom, those icons look quite nice in RV House. Mind sharing them?Phantom wrote:Screenshot
Of course finding a nice replacement would be better than disabling it completely. I'm a big fan of the P2P functionality as then RV House is not reliant on any server.Phantom @ Dec 4 2012, 08:51 AM wrote:On another hand, P2P Network was the only way we could see each other when your server started dying last year, so it was useful back then. I'm not sure if disabling it completely is a better idea than finding a nice replacement.
In holidays surely not. That's for family time. But before and after the holidays there's more chances. I am willing to put some time into looking into the fatal errors like crashing, and disabling P2P or whatever that is making RV House usage hard. But first the problems have to be identified, and determined if they're something on RV House (and what there, is it KadC problem or something else), or in Urne server, or perhaps RVZT.PS: are you going to have some free time in the next holidays for the pending hotfixes?
If you want me to take a look, you will need to send me RV House's log file after the crash has happened.RafSTer @ Dec 4 2012, 10:47 PM wrote: Sometimes as with many users, my rvhouse randomly crashes Namely, Phantom, Sb017, me and it is more lilkely to happen when im in private chat or even do not disturb mod and even happens in main chat room but less often. I can do it 2-3 times in 5 mins or it can not do it at all for 2 hours. While I play it seems stable it doesnt crash not that I can remember. But yes its happening. I suggest you come take a look when u got that chance, thx.
Debug logging is off, so this is no use to me. I don't remember if I disabled in one of the later versions debug logging by default as it was causing problems.Phantom @ Dec 5 2012, 03:59 PM wrote:Reinstalled RV House 3 minutes ago, it crashed 2 minutes ago.
PM window was open at the moment of the crash. I was talking with benvoliosaythat.
I compressed my RV House folder except img, lang & doc, dunno if it's what you need:
Code: Select all
Code: Select all
[log] size=2000 debug=1 ; Remove comment below if logging into file is required. file=log/rvhouse.log
Thanks,Phantom @ Dec 5 2012, 06:57 PM wrote: It crashed again, so this is the log after reinstalling RVH and appling debug mode 1:
This time there was no PM window open, just the main chat we were talking.
Important note: This crash did NOT prompt any KadC file error message. This was a random suddenly crash like the ones Raf explained. I haven't seen the KadC error in a few days.
Code: Select all
Returning 26 peers as result Lookup for key hash returned 26 hits in 14 seconds Logd = 120 220.127.116.11 23303 Logd = 120 18.104.22.168 11343 Logd = 122 22.214.171.124 23303 Logd = 1
Yes I'm sure I added debug=1 while RV House was closed, and then I opened RVH and after normally waiting a few minutes the crash appeared. RVH was closed automatically without prompting any error messages and I proceeded to submit the files.arto @ Dec 5 2012, 04:10 PM wrote: pretty weird but the .rar file you posted did not have any rvhouse.log file. Are you sure you had restarted RV House after changing debug=1 ?
Of course not. There's still no file with that name created in RVH directory atm.Abc wrote:hmm, i think phan reinstalled after crash so he deleted the logs without knowing.....

Thank you for the logs. Unfortunately the logs do not seem to capture the points of the crash, or do not give any hints of it.Phantom @ Dec 6 2012, 05:26 AM wrote:This is the log after aproximately 4-5 crashes, one after the other, there is approximately a 1-2 minutes difference between each one of them.

Is there any way we can properly identify that the issue is server-side and what the exact issue is? Does RV House spit out any information regarding that in debug mode?arto wrote:And the server has troubles, so we should try to replace it with some other server? RV House does put out quite a lot of debugging information regarding connection. But whether that will help pinpoint the issues is another matter.urnemanden @ Dec 8 2012, 03:12 PM wrote:Is there any way we can properly identify that the issue is server-side and what the exact issue is? I managed to find out how to run the RV House service as a system service meaning that even though I log out of the remote controlled session, the service will continue to run. So this should not be necessary anymore.arto wrote:I remember there was talk about the need to restart the server every once in a while. I don't remember if this was implemented?
Thanks,Phantom @ Jan 30 2013, 10:06 PM wrote: 2 new more house logs. I got the first crash one 1 minute approx after reinstalling RV House, and the 2nd crash approx 3 minutes after the 1st one.
I saved both logs:

We're light blue since few days.
Lagging in race has nothing to do with RV House centralized server. Centralized server is only used while chatting in RV House and setting up the games. Once you're in the game, the data communication is all between participants - not with the centralized server. Host of the race is the one making most of the difference.sebr @ Aug 25 2013, 09:46 PM wrote:
