As the title says, this is an Emerald run, and the rules are:
1. May only catch the first Pokemon you see in a new area (after getting Pokeballs). Shinies are the only exception.
2. If the first Pokemon you see is of the same evolution line than a Pokemon you have already caught, then you can catch the next Pokemon you see (dupes clause).
3. If a Pokemon faints, it's dead and will be boxed forever.
4. Pokemon can't be boxed unless they die or unless they are caught when the team is full.
5. If a Pokemon must be withdrawn from the box, it has to be selected randomly.
6. SET mode!
This is a bit similar to what Notepad and others do, but I allow myself to box extra Pokemon. Why I am using these weird rules will be explained in the story. So anyway, let's begin!

A boy had just woken up in a dark place. The sound of silence was really hurting his ears... He seemed oddly confused by it.
Suddenly, he heard a voice...
"My name's Professor Birch," the voice said. "You are finally awake!" the man then cheered.
Professor Birch had a pretty deep voice, which surprised the boy. Birch actually expected the boy to say something, but there was no answer.
"I guess you're still too shocked," Birch commented. "You were unconscious for six months after all".
"Six months?!" the boy thought, as some memories came back to him....
The boy was standing on a boat, which seemed to had lost control. People were running and shouting everywhere.
"PEEEKOOO!!!!!!!!!!" an old man shouted as he climbed the stairs as fast as he could.
However, the boy didn't move. A loud crash was then heard and a voice came through the boat's speakers: "EVACUATE IMMEDIATLY!".
The boy still didn't move though, and before he could notice the crash made him fly towards a door, breaking it. The boy was left unconscious after that, but a girl who that had been near him the whole time saved him.
"Anyway, it's not that important if you don't talk now," Birch then continued. "I guess I'll explain you what is happening. But, first, let me hand you this," he said and gave the boy a sheet of paper.
"Hoenn explorers inscription sheet, the hell is this?" the boy thought as he read the first line of the paper.
"You may be confused now, but write your information there and I'll explain," Birch told the boy, apparently guessing what the boy was thinking.
"Age... 16, Place of origin... Kanto". Breden rapidly finished filling the sheet and then handed it back to Birch.
"Great, thanks," Birch said. "I'll explain this briefly. You, me, and a lot of other people were traveling on a boat from Kanto to Sinnoh... But it crashed here, in the Hoenn region. You were left unconscious after the crash, but a girl saved you".
Birch stood quiet for a second, waiting to see if Breden had something to say, but he didn't.
"Then, we escaped the boat thanks to some of the survivors' water Pokemon. But when we reached land we found something amazing," Birch continued. "We found a big city, Petalburg, but it was abandoned. Almost abandoned really, because there was a man called Norman living there. He helped us settling there. We then separated into groups to explore this region. We found more cities: Rustboro, Dewford, Slateport, Mauville... All of them almost abandoned too".
Breden still didn't talk, but his face showed he was confused by what Birch was saying.
"Anyway, this may be too much for you to take now, so come visit me at my laboratory," Birch said. "We are now on a truck heading towards Littleroot Town. The girl that saved you in the boat will be waiting for you," he finished.
Breden then fell asleep, it was too much information...
* A day later *
Breden woke up, but now it wasn't dark. Maybe they had arrived?
He decided to go out...
"I've been taking care of you, sorry if I act weirdly..." she explained.
"T-th-thanks..." Breden then said, having some trouble speaking.
"Don't worry!" she responded. "Now, come with me," she told Breden and entered the house that was next to them...
"Petalburg was full, so I decided to continue taking care of you here," the girl explained. "Norman of Petalburg also helped in watching after you. We called ourselves Mom and Dad, how silly!".
Breden didn't know what to respond, he was grateful but the girl seemed scary.
"But I think you met him already, his name is Professor Birch," she said.
"I-I've m-met him," Breden responded.
"He lives next door, you may want to visit him!" the girl then suggested.
Breden agreed and left the house. Littleroot was a very small town, so he easily found Birch's house. But Birch wasn't there, instead, he met...
"Are you Breden?" the girl asked, and Breden nodded. "My father has been talking about you all day, that you survived and all that crap".
"Wh-where is he?" Breden responded, ignoring her whining.
"I don't know," she answered. "You could search for him. That would make him happier than seeing me anyway".
"S-sure..." Breden replied and then left. That girl was scary.
Breden left the house and thought about entering the laboratory that was near him, but some shouts stopped him...
He could recognize the deep voice.
"Breden!" Birch shouted. "Grab one of the Pokemon there and save me!"
It was just a Zigzagoon, but Breden didn't hesitate and ran towards the bag...
Which one was he going to choose?
- Story starts being introduced. You can notice this has some influences from Lost, and it will continue to have some. But don't worry, the main plot won't be related to Lost at all, so this won't seem similar to Nuzlocke's comic.
- We also meet the main character, Breden. He seems quiet and a bit mysterious, different from my last protagonist.
- Also Birch and May appear. Man with PEEKO also does a small cameo.
On the next update: A fighter.
