A Japanese exclusive from Treasure limited to 10,000 copies? Must be a collector’s dream! Maybe, but not so much for Western gamers. This pricey 2D scrolling shooter has you steer/fly a tiny mech for the purpose of destroying as many on-screen enemies at once. Impressive explosions surely make SNES fans drool, but the plot, power-up system and on-screen dialogue are likely lost on Westerners.

SCORE: 7/10

I love this game. The N64 version is the best when compared to the Dreamcast and DS ports. Changes were made that, in my opinion, took away from the original experience. This game was a great addition to my N64 collection. I have the Cart, book and box. For me, this game must be taken out and played regularly.

Interesting to hear someone thinks the original is better than the DC version. Have only played the DC version and it's very enjoyable. Had an opportunity to pick the N64 version up a few years ago but I dithered and lost the opportunity. It's probably the only remaining N64 game I'd like in my collection.
