Hey all

Some time ago i picked up 2 "Brand New" SNES controllers.
1 is still factory sealed and other is opened but never used.

they were very cheap so i am thinking they may be fake.
However they look very real and the booklets inside looks legit.

pictures below are of the opened one

any ideas what comes in the box from new or if there is something that stands out as fake

Cheers Guys

-Tyler

I remember reading about there being two or three series of Official OEM SNES controllers. I thought the ones with"Super Nintendo" printed in bold were better than later issues that just had the Nintendo oval imprinted.

Ok, i see. Thanks.

Yes. They are official controllers and it looks like they are both NTSC. Like BDR said, there were a few versions, and these both look like the early version. The sealed one will also have all the same branding as the loose one.

I wanted to see the back of the loose one. It has the official Nintendo stamp and markings.
When the SNES Jr. came out, it started to change. The back had a Super Famicom logo instead, as well as the engraved Nintendo race track logo on front, and a few different shoulder button variations.

Always look on back though. :yeah:

Since there were also similar 3rd party controllers as well, i wouldn't consider calling any of them "fake".

Yours are 005s, which are the first and best. Then there was another :cussfit: with a different serial number by nintendo and then I believe nintendo licensed it to Yobo who made a third :cussfit: with the second serial number which are regarded as the worst (I believe they have plastic start/select buttons).

Compared to today's controllers, they do feel a bit light.
