that i get testedf or all this stuff?

Thyroid (TSH optimum 1-2 for fertility, plus test T3, T4, antithyroid antibodies). Thyroid issues a a huge cause of failure and miscarriage and doctors are not experts in this field.

Clotting factors - ask for a thrombophilia panel to rule out acquired and inherited clotting disorders(APS, MTHFR, Factor V Leiden etc).

Infection for you and DH - Ureaplasma, mycoplasma, chlamydia, group b step.

Uterine - full hysteroscopy to check for fibroids, polyps etc.

Autoimmune issues - Rhueumatoid factor, antinuclear antibodies, lupus anticoagulant, thyroid etc

Immune issues - NK cells etc. - needs specialist lab. for tests.

I have had my thyroid checked three times. And we both have been checked for STDs. I have NOT been checked for any clotting factors nor have i had a hysteroscopy. The only "uterus-checking" i have had is an SHG.

is that why he wants to run all of these tests? is he asking for the ureaplasma etc coz that needs to be done if u end up doing an IUI??(atleast thats the CA state mandate).

Not sure how to advice coz i've not needed to do any of these..maybe someone else can chime in?

I had almost everything on your list checked; some before I considered DE and others because I was moving on to DE. I didn't have the group B strep test done, although it will be done now in last month of PG as part of standard late PG testing. And on the NK assay, I didn't have the whole Beers Center version done, just done via Labcorp. Also had karyotyping done on both DH and me.

The other thing you can/should consider add is a SIS (saline-infused sonogram).

Do you absolutely need to have all of the above done? No. If it's covered by insurance, should you have it done? Yes, especially if you are a no stone unturned type of gal. If you are self-pay, should you have it done? Maybe; finances are a factor but sometimes best to pay a "little" now before incurring larger expenses.

what is the difference between SIS and SHG? the SHG is a saline sonogram test that i have done twice.

Most REs do not do a hysteroscopy before a cycle, a saline sonohystogram (also called SIS) is sufficient to check out the uterine cavity.

If they see anything weird or if you have had surgeries and losses they might order a hysteroscopy later, and can do minor surgery at the same time.

Some of the DE patients recommendations are overkill IMHO.

(And yes BTW I have had every single test on that list done, but do not necessarily recommend them all for someone with your history.)

I read the SHG you posted as a typo for HSG... (n/t)
