<p>I have always been able to embed videos on forums by typing the embed code. For awhile, the videos would embed simply by typing the link to them. Neither works any longer. On one forum I visit often, other had trouble embedding video for a long time. I would go in and edit their posts to make the videos work. This can no longer be done either. What's the deal? Did you guys change something? As you can see if you follow the first link, I edited the link, but it still didn't show the video.</p><p>http://www.network54.com/Forum/161422/m ... /Hey+Roger</p><p>http://www.network54.com/Forum/161422/m ... We have not changed a thing...

... have you changed browsers lately? Which browser? Which editor: WYSIWYG, or plain?

Nope, same browser, 3 different computers. Doesn't work in IE 6, IE 8 (nothing works in IE 8, I don't even get the option to post images with IE 8) or FF 3. Tried it with and without WYSIWYG editor, doesn't work either way. It used to work fine with IE 6. In fact, for awhile, it would post the video (not the link to the video) just by typing the link.

Well, there is a third option... YouTube changed something... I'll look into it.

For:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-acCfEHmXs -- embedding is disabled by default in you tube for that video (it does not let you copy an embed code).

For:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-acCfEHmXs -- the embed code is now slightly different than it used to be...

Let's test:

<object width="525" height="444"><param name="movie" value=""></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="525" height="444"></embed></object>

<p>I have seen some people comment that they need to remove a space or put a space somewhere in the code. I did not try to embed that video, it was a different one. You Tube did not mention embedding was disabled for the video I tried to embed, but that wouldn't surprise me either.</p><p>There was also a time embedding only worked if you entered it through your formatted signature. I don't do it all that often anyway, but it was odd that it used to work just by typing the URL and it no longer does for me. </p><p>.</p>

I know, it changed yesterday. Since I am a video maker, I often show some of the latest vids to my forum friends. However, some time ago the 'object' tags stopped working, which was no problem since the embed tag worked fine.

Yesterday I embedded this vid, which was visible yesterday and not anymore today. I changed nothing to my message, and noone can see my vid anymore (and neither the one in my sig).

I'll try both the code with and without the object tags.

-here comes with object tag and all-

-and here comes without object tag, just the embed code-

And... post!

<p>I am glad to see I am not going any further off the deep end...... I was starting to think I was losing the rest of my mind.</p><p> </p>
