Patterson looked good today

Looks very composed when the opposing defense was firing live ammo against him. He went through his progressions well and seemed to have all the tools to be one of if not the top soph QB in the country. He looks mature beyond his age and his mechanics are outstanding. His touch on the deep ball was excellent today. Patterson is over 2k yards with 17 td's and has played only half his sophomore season. I think with the experience he got last season and with the success he is having as a sophomore at Ole Miss, this guy may be the best QB we've ever had at Ole Miss if we can hold on to him in '18 & '19.

That's what they said in the post-game show on the radio.

Patterson always looks pretty good. But Jordan Wilkins deserves some praise today. 113 yards and 6.3 yards per carry. And when was the last time our team was able to rush for over 250 yards?

Patterson looked like the real deal today.  Longo's offense seemed to actually work as well.  Is Vandy that terrible?  Or did OM figure some things out today?  I have been critical of Patterson's overall game and development to this point, but he was a real star today.

I've sentenced boys younger than you to the gas chamber. Didn't want to do it. I felt I owed it to them.

Patterson is a stud, Longo isn't an OC at this level.
OM had a nice win against a shitty team, but don't confuse the two things above.

Yeah, I still believe Longo and his offense are a major problem. I hope he’s gone soon.

Fortunately for us, our level of talent is better than their coaching.

Im gonna give them all credit today. I want to see the same kind of results next week to be sold 100%, but when you can hang 57 points on any SEC team, thats an accomplishment, so Im giving them props today.

The defense still gave up too many big plays though, so thats still a huge concern for me. We all know Vandy doesnt score a lot, so for them to hang 35 on us, yea, Im concerned.

Agree with Vandy's 35, or really 28 on the starters. I think the defense has progressed each game and am willing to give McGriff some credit. We gave up two big plays that led to 14 of their 28 points, the 40+ yard TD run early on then the jet sweep we let get loose. Those two plays were 14 points. So, overall I think the defense played pretty well compared to previous games. We still have a long way to go but it does seem like McGriff is progressing with them. We stopped the run fairly well compared to what we have looked like although the next two weeks will tell a lot in that regard.
