I'm a student from Singapore interested in studying in the USA.
In most US universities, there is a minimum TOEFL score to meet; especially for international students.
Now, the question is that I've been educated in ALL subjects(except in the instruction of other languages of course) in English..Is there really a need for the unnecessary and costly task of taking TOEFL when the SATs and one's Cambridge grades can more than prove one's calibre in English?
Would the universities be gracious enough to accept such students, believing in their capability to communicate in English without having to take TOEFL?
Yes, some universities may consider you, but most would not consider your application without TOEFL scores even if you have studied in English medium throughout.
By not taking a simple test like TOEFL, you are significantly limiting your options.
I would strongly advise you to take TOEFL.
