And here is the poster featuring Lester and what I believe to be the same building. Would love to know when this was taken - probably before I came here (1987).

Someone more meticulous, detail-oriented and patient than me!

LOL!! My gaff is a boring brick box built in 1982 while The Gatehouse in Tixall dates from 1580.

It can be rented from The Landmark Trust, so if we had a whip round we could pretend we all lived in it.

;) :D

What I am curious to know, apart from the year this poster shot was taken, is where the rest of the band were at the time and what else (if anything) they got up to in Staffordshire during their visit. Staffs has canals and disused collieries and kilns, but Devon or The Lake District it is not.

That being so, they probably legged it straight back to London, but I would like to hear what went on from the horse's mouth...if the horse can remember.

1990, just after the reformation. And I did indeed rent it from the Landmark trust for a bit of R and R.

Oh wow, thanks for dropping in to clarify! I thought the pic was too old to have had the folly photoshopped into the background.

Had I known you were down the road, I would have brought a thermos of tea and some Staffordshire oatcakes to your trailer.
