State Law Would Require Bicycle Licenses for All New Yorkershttp://gothamist.com/2011/02/28/state_l ... le_lic.php DenDekker (D-Queens) has introduced legislation in the state assembly that would require every bicycle in New York State to have a license plate. One bill would require "the annual registration of personal bicycles and provides for a license plate fee of twenty-five dollars for the first year and five dollars for every year thereafter"...

... A second bill would require every commercial cyclist in the state to carry identification and have insurance; their initial registration fee would be $50.

They should pummel the scum-sucker who propsed this senseless with concrete re-bar.

How can you be stoooooopid enough to require EVERY bicyclist to buy a license plate! Though I'm sure the 12 year old girls would go into a bidding war to get the only vanity "Bieber" tag.

As to commercial cyclists, why not?

The thing is - what precisely is a "commercial cyclist" ?

Do they mean folks who operate messenger & small package delivery services using a bicycle? Pedal-powered mobile popsicle stands? Bikes rented to people to cruise around parks, &tc.?

Small businesses already shoulder a crushing tax burden in SSRNY . Fuck these Donkey Party lunatics who prattle on about how they're all for the little guy, then propose wack-ass shit like this that impacts "citizen bacillus" worst of all.

I say we re-open Fresh Kills Landfill for a day, bust out a few crates of hollow points, and do some "Spring cleaning".

Don't give the Soviet Socialist Republik of New York any ideas !

I wouldn't put it past the greasy, filthy, degenerate sons of bitches to be busy scheming right this second on a justification for taxing air consumption !
