Lots of rain during the next 3 days while visiting the grandson. Looks like it will be getting hot again next week while I'm redoing a sidewalk. I guess I'll start bright and early and put in a couple or 3 hours on it each day until it gets hot!

Gotta luv them big tubs O' water right next door to the Western Extents of the Soviet Socialist Republik of New York cooling down the air !

Almost makes up for them acting as snow-making machines during the Winter months...

They're finally talking drought 'round these parts, though due to lack of rain. Or "near drought", "semi-drought", or some damn thing. My lawn's mostly dead like about every other patch of grass in the area that doesn't get watered by sprinklers or whatnot. I say - Can't eat it, who needs it ? Farm's gettin' watered.

Saw a blurb on the TV news yesterday about the drought affecting the corn crop and causing the price of the various and sundry products it is used in to increase. Sigh!

Plus, the dumb-asses - I MEAN "powers that be" have officially declared that we are in a "moderate" state of drought.

I guess that means I should stop turning the kitchen faucet on and wandering away for 15 minutes or so while the water gets real good and cold to drink.

Heat seems to have brought out the local wasp population. I was begining to miss their gangly arses flitting about the Farm looking for mud. Question is - where the hell are they building their nests...?

Down at the grandson's place. The SIL juiced them with insecticide yesterday. Odd thing is I don't ever remember seeing a nest of them this early in the year. Usually you run into them in the fall. They also weren't very aggressive yet.
