Yeah, this could be the one to get.  $150 for the set, which is a box, booklet and each individual Legacy Set, plus Phantom.  So perhaps a bit more that if you bought each individually.  Hopefully the price will come down a bit more.  I don;t mind having extra discs.  Ya never know if one goes bad or not.

This does appear to be the gold-standard of classic Universal. I have the individual Legacy sets (with plans to purchase the new Creature and Invisible Man sets) and the eight-movie Blu-ray release from a few years back, so now I need to decide if it makes financial sense to purchase this.

But a nice, nice package for newer fans or those who have held off buying thus far!

If you have the individual current sets and plan on getting the next two then no. Like the 2014 DVD set which had the same packaging I have no doubt this will be the individual sets placed in one box with the same booklet from the 2012 BD set.

Am told that Creature From the Black Lagoon and Revenge of the Creature will both have a 3d edition.
All are restored...including the Invisible Man sequels.
Like many of you, I have the earlier bluray sets, so may just purchase Invisible Man and Creature sets separately.

What are the 13 commentaries?

I know there are 2 for the original Frankenstein.
3. Bride.
4. Wolf Man
5. Creature
6. Mummy
7. Invisible Man
8. Phantom
9. A&C Meet
10. Dracula

Was there one for Spanich Dracula? If so, that's 11.

What am I missing? Was there another A&C commentary or two?

I think both of the Creature sequels have commentaries.

The Spanish Dracula definitely doesn't include a commentary track. The English Dracula does have two (But not on the UK editions!) commentary tracks, though.

I believe A&C MEET J&H has a fun Tom Weaver commentary.

I remember years ago wondering why they couldn't do a set of this scope, analogous to the boxed collection of A&C films. It's a natural idea.

But why couldn't hey have gotten this together before I bought most of the films (at least all the ones I really need) on other blu-ray sets?

Because this way you get to buy them again.  And again.  And again.  And again.

Bwahaha!

I bought the complete DVD set, the original UK BD classic set, and the Frankenstein BD sequels set, so am not in a hurry, although I do want the restored Creature films.

It's too bad Universal's licensing of their 1950's sci-fi films suggests they have no plans for a similar genre set down the road.
