I think the script is actually quite clever. Morrow, Ankrum, Shayne, and Corday have wonderful chemistry and timing together, and really seem to be having a ball working with each other. The whole idea of warning everyone to stay indoors and don't move around outside because you may get picked off and devoured by the creature is also a marvelously spooky idea. Also, when Edgar Barrier talks about the creature being "extraterrestrial, from some God-forsaken anti-matter universe," his superb acting raises the film to a level of Lovecraftian Horror never achieved in any other 50's Sci-Fi.
THE GIANT CLAW is welcome in my DVD player any time!
