Wings Hauser heads an odd cast in this horror film set in the rural south. He and his younger brother Lee Montgomery (grown up here from when he was a somewhat annoying 70's child actor) are passing through, get harassed by local rednecks, saved by Sheriff Bo Hopkins, and embroiled into many strange happenings centering around a local chemical plant.

SPOILER ALERT

What I like about this is that some unexpected things happen. For example, two members of the principle cast bite the dust, one very early in the film, and neither of them did I see coming.

This is a different take on the Romero zombie genre.

Not great, but interesting and very entertaining, and I generally liked it.

There's a lot of films that fragment applies to, aren't there?

I liked this movie and became a fan of Bo Hopkins after watching it and there are quite a few nice scenes.

Somebody should schedule a "Bo Hopkins plays the sheriff" film series. If you run half a dozen or so every day it should only take a month or two to screen 'em all.
