M113 with 106mm....

While wasting time at work ( I mean hey let's be honest here) I was thinking about further conversions to the M113.

I've been pondering the Engineers vehicle with the dozer blade and auger thingy, but the double chain scares the crap out of me.

I saw Verlindens M113 Recoiless Rifle conversion and wondered if I was able to use it as one of ours.

I'm sure it needs to be modified, it's DND right?

Are there any pics floating around of this beast?

Whats the skinny on it?, how long did we use it for?

Would it have been mounted to an A2? or an A nothing?

Oops here comes the boss...better look interested.

Cheers

Hey Pete,

Check out Paul's M113A1 with 106mm on Trackjam....very nice job.

As far as I know the 106 was only mounted on the M113A1...not the A2.

The Verlinden kit would have to be modified.

Pete, I've got the tech drawings that show exactly how its mounted. Its a simple rig. What is not simple will be finding where I left those damn drawings! I'll have a shufti for them this weekend.

Graeme,

Could I also get a copy of those drawings when you find them?

Thanks

Pete, if you're referring to the Verlinden 1:35 M113 Mounted Recoilles Rifle conversion #983, then it's NOT the one used by Canada.
Better off with the Verlinden 1:35 106mm Recoilles Rifle/M151 conversion #738, and scratchbuilding the rest.

This is the beast you're aiming for, right?

Cheers, JP

I think the AFV Club 106 is correct for the rifle and and mount....you would need to build the upper M113 hull mounts, the travel lock, and the ammo stowage racks.
