Looks like this is painted in the OD-Green-Black Canadian Scheme. I wonder if this was marketed at Canada? CG also made the 1m turret in the AVGP.

I could be wrong but I think I remember reading an article in The Sentinel back in 81(ish) that had pics of the the contenders for the AVGP or some other program. This might have been one of the vehicles in that article.

Then again I could be totally wrong they say memory is the first thing to go....

Trust me the first thing to go isn't always the memory!

Never seen that pic before - nice find! I wonder if it was part of the same trial as the Cougar? Or if there was a separate recce vehicle trial?

This vehicle is a monument park in Western Canada now. It was a 1 of vehicle for the replacement tests from the ferret we used here. It was pitted against the M114, M20 and M113 Lynx C and R. I believe it may be in Shilo, it once found a home in CFB Borden, but went missing in the 1980's.

The V-150 with the 90 mm Mecar gun has been in Wainwright as a monument since at least the 1980s.

There is a pic in this thread...

It would be great to post those unique images of prototype and trial vehicles that are now just What Ifs.

Here are a couple of old images from the AVGP trials. It is apparent the Cougar in the trials does not look the same as the production model and what is that in the background? A V-150 with a 76 mm gun!

The Scorpion turret mounts a different style coffin bin and the British night sight is fitted to the right side of the main gun.

As well the DND censor tried to black out the MOWAG Piranha 6x6 and Cougar stencilling on the hull. Love the Piranha drawing!

Let's get those V-150, Fox, and Scimitar images posted as well as any other trial vehicle from over the years.

How about this turret for a Super-Grizzly conversion?

Guys does anybody know if the Canadian military ever used or tested the M274 mechanical mule. It came up in a conversation I had yesterday. I don't know for certain if it happened or not but it sounds plausible.
thanks for any info
