I know the ultimate Kit would be the real model $150.00 add-on for the trumpeter basic LAV-25

But what would be next best Out of Box Kit

Trumpeter LAV-25 SLEP, A2 or the ASLAV-25

Has the proper engine deck, IIRC. Then fuel tanks, stowage and lots of mounts for the armour!.

Its a fairly inexpensive upgrade that makes a big difference

I know it's expensive but you do get a lot of the necessary photo-etch bits, like the tool cage and stowage holders. Here's a look at what needs to be done, at least for a non-applique armoured one:

Hey did you make that little strip of Anti Skid on top of the muffler using sandpaper?...You know I'm saving these and ripping off all your hard work right?
