There's a lesson to be learned from my stupidity today! I practically sent my Envoy class tug to the bottom during the second launch of the day. Picked a bad spot to put it in, started to slip so stood up a little straighter which brought the tug nose up. The ballast shifted to the rear and one side and it went into the water stern first with me following in hot pursuit to retrieve it. Soaking wet with an extra 10-20 pounds of water in the hull made for a little fun getting out but I managed. Anyhow, here's the lesson - don't put lead shot in ziplock bags without securing them somehow. They conform to the space available very nicely but they slip around real easy. Next time I'll use some silicon caulking to hold the bags in place and some watered down white glue inside to hold the shot in the right place.  :)

Larry

Well done for rescuing the tug ... and yourself :D :D

Hope the water wasn't too deep.

   Glad the tug didn't end up in a watery grave and that you are alright but it must have been a sight to see. :D
Les - Don't panic - it's your round next. :D

A video would be R rated - I did my best impression of a sailor's salty language while standing in water above my knees trying to grab all the loose hatches and superstructure bits and pieces! Only lost one ladder and my temper but was truly embarrassed I didn't secure the ballast - rookie mistake! Oh, and I gave the older couple eating their lunch in the picnic pavilion something to talk, and I'm sure, laugh about!

Ho ho what fun.
PVA won't set in a sealed bag, try epoxy, or forget the bags, it works for model railways.

I know how you feel! I crashed my drone this summer on a tiny island in a pond next to the field I was flying. Smelly water up to my waiste and about 30cm of even smellier mud on the bottom of the pond!

Never felt having a shower so good and after that an hour or so in my pool! [insert scary smiling emoji here]
