Hello , found this offer in French aucion house:
Märklin steam driven car, automobile with fixed cylinder.

http://www.ivoire-france.com/lot/markli ... peur-vive/

Never ever seen a steam car from Märklin exept fire pumpers, so I doubt that given id ids correct. Anyway intersting.
Does someone know a little bit more ?

Regards Walter

I love vintage steam toys and own some machines. Additionally I have a digital collection of 7,5 Gbite, sorted by country, manufacturer, kind of steam toy & Id.

Looks like Märklin parts but is it?
Looks like it could be made for the French market as it is a French model car.

I recall that their is a picture of a Marklin Steam Car in MR. GAMAGE'S GREAT TOY BAZAAR: 1902-1906 By Charlotte.

I will check when I am finally home later this morning.

Sounds good and look for the fire brigade stuff as red and gold is the colour of that.

Be cautious, a walk round a carboot / steam rally market will reveal many tin plate toys looking like this, some may even carry a CE mark - so you know they are safe.

Well, the one in the Gamages book is listed as a Bing “Spider Motor Car”, but here is a picture anyways.
