Aye Miles, that paddle steamer is a real beauty!

Is that a class winning design from some time in the past?

What do you reckon the elapsed time New York to Liverpool would be for that sleek greyhound?

A competitor, in its day, for the Blue Riband do you suppose?
Are we having fun yet?

The paddle-steamer does have nice clean lines to it, simple and elegant.  :D  :D

Fantastic table Miles,

Just how do you find and come across your items?

Also, I very much like the litreture, it is very special. I think that most of us have missed a trick by not collecting and looking out for such items

I must admit that some of my fondest childhhood memories are standing in the local Boatclub club house, with boats all around me, in the 1960's -

Many thanks for showing

Kindest regards

Thanks, I believe it's the boat at the bottom of the left hand page from this 1878 Stevens' catalogue, fitted with their paddle steam engine and boiler.

I don't know about performance of this boat, fairly sedate i expect.
