Thought I'd share some pics of my second loco made from bits and pieces, which is nearing completion.

All of it was made from bits out of my  spares box, plus a  Mamod SR1 boiler [with inserts missing] and a couple of Bowman wheels [ with the flanges ground down], which I got off ebay for the grand total of  £17.50.

It was built using  an old Bowman cylinder and flywheel and Meccano gears. Still got to build a burner, and awaiting delivery of some buffers. 1.JPG 2.JPG 3.JPG 4.JPG 5.JPG 6.JPG

Excellent,if I said I had something similar in mind for the future and I mean future makes you think. Brass cab certainly better than mine (have brass on order ). Wish I had as many spare bits as you.
Very nice.

That Looks very promissing I suppose . When she runs as good as she Looks now you have no Troubles with your new selfmade engine  made from scrap parts

'If she runs' is the question 😗   Not sure if the gearing is low enough for it.  Tried to make it as simple as possible with no unnecessary parts to keep the weight down.

Thanks for all the nice comments.    🙂

Other locos are also calmed down by the waggons /cars you put behind them  so don´t worry about the gearing I once built one from a mamod mm1 and she worked fine Ihave her downgeared because I had the spares but if you haven´t  it shouldn´t Keep you away from locobuilding.

cheers Joe
