Gosh!
I forget about this thread, So off we go:
The owner of the gr740 284 decided to send the locomotive to the scrapyard, the boiler and frames were removed from the site, earlier this year.
Meanwhile the 117 still remains to the back of Ancona's Depot, but from what I have heard she was sold to an enthusiast at Falconara Marittima (near Ancona).

Someone could always start a gofundme account or something of the like. It seems like I've seen quite a few in the U.S. saved this way, for instance the NC&StL #576 Alco J3. Purely through donations and grants.
