Thanks for the welcome and advice.   I'll get some photographs together of the current state of the engine.

Cheers.

Welcome to the Forum from Germany
To evaluate the restoration of an engine  Fotos really help a lot . A total rustbucket might be handeled like told above but there are many states an engine can be in between a rustbucket and a new unused one  Than we ca provide the Kind of advice your engine and her engineer are looking for

cheers Joe

Photographs of my engine in it's current state.

I believe my shopping list will be as follows;

Drive bands
Paint
Safety valve
Water level plug
Water level plug insert (current one stripped)
Chrome part of firebox
Pipework
Rivets
Decals

Cheers.

This is a complete resto job I suppose . you have to drill out the rivets to get all parts loosened and fix them piece by piece you might watch out for a second engine to get a new smokestack of. I never saw a sole stack on ebay  I wish you a lot of luck with the task

cheers Joe
