Good morning and welcome to my little effort.
I've been trying to get my "stand alone "boiler and steam winch (Oh no not more logs, I hear you say)    up and running for this event.
It's been a bit of a battle, what with non return valves not working, bad soldering    of joints, then blocking the steam line with too much solder.
I fitted a pressure gauge on top of the sight glass......yep....I broke it  :help: , replaced that and went to fit the exhaust to the feedwater tank and had to take the whole thing off as I'd onlt tapped the inlet to 5/16" not 1/4"
Eventually got it finished and working in time for this event.  :D  :D

xyz$, now it seems like photobucket isn't working, oh great start, sorry.

I'll have to guess a steam donkey set-up as used for logging. If so, I'll be enthralled, and if Bernie built it, it will likely go well beyond expectations!!!

Can't wait either! :?    :D

:D from what I see so far, it promice a lot. these look like life size wood logs. that is heavy stuff compared to normal work load of engine models. so this look really promising :D I will drop by later and watch more :)

If you bear with me I'll try and explain "Skyline logging" it was and still is used in USA, also here in Oz in the steeper areas of Victoria and Tasmania.
The idea was to rig a tree as a "tower" usually on top of a ridge to winch logs up to it, another "anchor" was set up on the opposite side of the valley. This "anchor" was moved when the logs were harvested, but the "tower" stayed in place and they could log in an arc from that point, then move the whole plant.
This might help understand.
