It's at least setup properly now Phil, not sure about looking better??? Hmmmm needs more paint.

I'm embarking on the first build soon the shims have been cut and fitted to the headstock castings, rough cut but the correct thickness, to avoid the cracked headstock syndrome.

Now...... remember the steam trike idea??? Found some possible rear tyres. These were pulled from some packaging at my current job, (new one next week.....)

Will start a new thread, once I've progressed it a little. 😉

It's sort of a rubber, but hard not soft, it still flexes though. Should make for some good wheels for the rear of a trike. Just gotta make the rest of it up, I have a rubber seal that I got from Dave when I took the Bing engine upto him, (hope that's still steaming nicely by the way Dave), so I have three tyres, just need some chrome (Ali) rims, and figure out where best to site the boiler. (This is planned as a long term project so don't expect it built by next week).😉

Just while I'm on the topic, anyone have ideas for cutting grooves, and shaping the tyre? Have four of the smaller ones so can experiment with suggestions. Possibly mounted on the wheel, and emery paper spun in the lathe???

Make a mandrel obviously, possibly with end plates for grip.
A very sharp tool will turn rubber, but might rub it up too.
I recall rubber being frozen for something, and being stiff enough for machining, but I can't remember what.
Perhaps you could wait a month or two....👽
