Today something rare came by post.

But first I want to get into some history facts.
Most of it started with a law suit against Bing, by doll maker Käthe Kruse about mid 1925.
Before that, copy right was not taken that serious by the German toy industry.
Every brand had similar items on the market and everybody copied everybody.
But Käthe Kruse had only a small firm, so when the big ones started to copy her dolls, there was not much meat left on the bone for her, so she took Bing to cord and won the process.
Suddenly the biggest toy factory came into trouble, if a small factory can win, who would follow this example.

This was easy money for those who took the chance
To prevent that, Bing started to produce a complete new range.
If you look how quick there range between 1927 and 1931 changes to something complete new.
Of course after that, the big Wall Street crash and the Nazi regime came, and it was done with Bing.
But interesting in the process are the experiments, that took place in a short time.
Many items where produced only on period and there for became very rare.

Such is the German station destination clock that arrived today.
It's based on the Britisch one, but this time they put a lamp in the clock.
And also, very rare is, that it was battery operated.
This was, if you compare it to the time spirit toymakers,  a new concept.
Personally I find the Britisch one much more beautiful, but on the other hand the German it's very rare, as it was only produced for a short period in 1929.

And this is the real thing...

(It still needs a normal flat torch battery and a lamp)

Just to let you see how it looks with the destination plates, I put on the Britisch ones, but the destinations need to be German.

After 1929 they made following for a short while..

And than ende up with the modern typical German ones, as this here in the drawing.

Of course as the Englisch one, the German destination plates are also lost in time.
And the big problem is we don't know what the six destinations where.
Two you can see in the catalog and that is Berlin-Rom and Studgard-Berlin, but the other four remain a mystery.

Does anyone perhaps know the other 4 destination?

Cheers,
Danny

Blowing up the image and rotating I think one reads Leipzig- ? The other is not readable.
