I am building the 1/48th RPM WW1 Ambulance in French markings. Can anyone give me any references to the colors they painted them?? It is a light bluish grey on the artwork. Doesn't look like Hoprizon (uniform) blue, or an azure.Would love a Tamiya, or Gunze color, or mixing ratio, but I'm happy with any info on them.
TIA, Dave

Not sure if you have seen the pictures at the following site, but I would go with a fairly light Blue-grey which along with weathering would look very pale

That's a great source of period photos!! The colour callouts on the kit are far too dark, I think. So I'm going with Tamiya Haze Grey, then filters washes of blue-greys......then dust...lots of dust!! That helps me a lot, though...The tops appear to be canvas colour, which makes sense, also. And the tires are natural latex...not with carbon black in them!
