Hello Chaps

Got this kit on Monday, had a good look last night and was pretty disappointed with what you get. Not so much a '2 in 1' kit, as a 'can't build a complete kit from the sprues you're given' kit.

The kit tries to get away without using the 'G' sprue from the earlier armoured cab 7 with 3.7cm Flak (6542) and this causes some big problems.

1. No parts for filling in the 3 large rectangular gun carriage mounts on the flatbed. These are not mentioned in the instructions by part number, but can be seen on the construction line drawings.

2. The 'G' sprue also contains the large bench seat, which is obviously missing from this kit.

3. The two types of frontal and cab armour shown on the back of the box/poster/paint guide are thus reduced to one.

4. And the biggest problem with not having the 'G' sprue is that you can only make the incorrect 'museum' version with the shortened fenders and extra cab fillet.

The etched parts have been changed as well, so this is seems to be a conscious decision to omit the 'G' sprue, rather than just a regular Dragon style mistake.

Cheers
Julian

PS The kit includes the etched slats for the fold downsides/rear but only gives you instructions for making the wooden version.

I love Dragon-models but it is my theory that in their rush to get kits out in their prolific nature, they miss area's of accuracy and problems in their kit instructions. I believe they need to slow down and pay attention to quality controll. -MB
