Hi
It’s a Pz3 chassis. The ID is the drivers vision port which I’ve circled in red .. Not sure of the Exact Ausf but no earlier than late Ausf J due to the engine cowl style.

Looks to me like the 2cm Flak is behind not on the chassis

My take too. Wouldn't be the first time an object behind the vehicle appeared at first to be part of the foreground vehicle.

Possibly a sdkfz 10/4 ?

I’ve seen the photo before and a discussion on it either ML or FB but can’t recall the outcome.

I would say the FlaK 38 is mounted inside the fightingcompartment.

Looking at an enhancement of the picture I can make out part of the Hull (attached to the sidewall) that runs in front of, and beyond, the FlaK gunmount/trunnion.

My 2, overrated, euro-cents

flak

It is quite possible that the flak is in the panzer hull, note the boxes for the 2cm flak magazines, are on the ground this side of the panzer, and also one of the nearside mudguard. Not so likely if there were a flak half track behind the PzIII.

I have no idea if the 2cm Flak is or is not mounted in the Pz3 nor if it’s a Sdkfz 10/4.

However with the presence of a 2cm Flak it’s not surprising to see 2cm Flak ammo boxes. So I don’t see the ammo boxes as proof of the Flak being mounted in the Pz3 or a 10/4 as they seem just randomly strewn about.

The one indicacation for a Pz3 Mount is the stowage rail on the engine deck but if this Pz3 was with a Stug unit it could just be a the unit added the rail as per their Stugs.

Personally I’d like to see it confirmed as mounted in the Pz3

A close examination of the pic show the top of the superstructure leading away and in front of the 2cm flak.  I think this is most likely a munitionspanzer III, probably attached to a StuG unit, which has been up-armed.  Remember those other  modifications - an ex-StuG 75mm KwK mounted on a PzI and a triple 1.15cm flak, also mounted on a PzIb.   To say nothing of the two 88mm mounted on PzIV.  So this is not so outlandish.
