Had a busy week, moving my mother into a retirement home and preping for an interstate model comp I'm off to on the 23rd, so didn't get too much done on this dio.
Got the PaK stuck down, added a Stielgranate 41, some downed wires and worked on the the troop figures.

Dio is looking good Tim - the JSU 152 should provide quite a contrast to the "peashooter" that's been abandoned (for good reason)!

Tim, I'm glad to see everything coming together so nicely.  I've been anticipating the finish of this one for a while. Can I ask where you got the Stielgranate?
I hope your mum enjoys her new home.

Looks great TJ, super-realistic, the brick duct made me cough!

Very nice damaged.
I like that your street lamp get on top some "white finish" from pigeons.

Thanks Kevin, the PaK 37 probably wasn't used with any effectiveness by this time of the war but I imagined this as an old weapon pressed into desperate service using the more effective Stielgranate by the Volkssturm .. well that's my scenario anyway.

Thanks Lindsey, yes it tantalizingly close to being done, just the figures and more items associated with the PaK to go.
The Stielgranate and case I made myself from styrene rod and tube.
Yes mum seems fine in her new home, she just has to get used to it after 62 years in the family home. Thanks for that.

Thanks Mark, the more I add to the rubble the more it looks better I think, adding different coloured pastels now to add variance. Dusty is indeed the look I'm going for, even to the point I'l probably add more to the ISU-152 as well.

Thanks Erik, it can be harder getting things to look damaged than making something shiny and new. I'm trying some new methods and ideas on this one. Yep the additions on the lamp post are just some of those 'little' things that add a  lot of life.

Tim, that Stielgranate and case is a very impressive piece of scratchbuilding.  You had me convinced it must be a commercially available item.  Very well done!  Though I guess I shouldn't have been too surprised considering the quality of the rest of the build.

Hello Tim,

That is a rather spiffing base you have there chap, it looks very realistic and the poor little 'doorknocker' is very nicely done, especially the Stielgranate and case.  I look forward to seeing the big beast on the base soon, the whole thing will be one of the best vignettes I have seen in a while.

All the best,

Paul

Thanks again Lindsey, not sure what to say about that, I'm still trying match the work of other guys on here.

Thanks Paul, I appreciate everyone's kind words, maybe I should cast the Stielgranate & case and sell some (too late, it's glued down). It's funny you call it a vignette, as I would have, I'm about to fly interstate next week to a comp (QMHE) in Queensland and their definition of a vignette is this ..
"VIGNETTES A small group of figures supported by scenery. May include hand held or personal portable equipment, large animal or small livestock. It can NOT include full buildings, vehicles, aircraft or ships, or large items of equipment." So It can only be entered as an AFV, not a dio nor a vignette??
