USMC M103A1 Part Question

Kinda curious what this is and real curious what color would it be...before all the grime and dirt covers that tank of course lol

The part is J37. Would it be OD, Marine Green, steel or some combination?

Looks very much like a track jack, used to keep track blocks together when taking off/putting on end connectors and center guides.

Probably painted the same color as the tank.
