Hi everyone, I've been working on this build:
http://www.planetarmor.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6536

and I can't seem to find any brass ammo for the m-10 in 1/48. I know its entirely possible it doesn't exist but I thought I would check with you guys here before I went ahead and got the resin kind (I'm not into metalizing the shells...)

just thought I would ask
thanks in advance

Hi Sam

As far as I know nobody makes 1/48 3" ammo for the M-10. Hauler make a set they call M-10 ammo but its not, it 76mm sherman ammo. As you may know 3" and 76mm ammo had different cases and look very different.

I too am building a M10 and its on hold till I find some ammo as this is all its waiting for.

for the armour bolts I recommend making them using a punch and die set. Very easy.

I dont like paint metal ammo cases, but i recentley used some Gunze Sango metalizer paint, brass colour and its looked good.

...but its hard to tell the size in photos online...I was afraid of that...so I guess its back to using the kit pieces, pretty annoying after spending so much time adding AM and scratchbuilding...oh well its just another challenge right?

By the way your build looks good so far! I wish I had a punch and die but I can't justify buying one yet, so I'm doing a combination of styrene (hand cut, ugh) and the hauler PE armor bosses. I also noticed that you didn't use the hauler fenders....or did you just get the hauler interior set?

Keep up the good work, and thanks for the info!

Hi Sam
Thanks for the comments
I have used parts of the Hauler exterior set, but not the fenders. I just thinned down the kit items.

For the ammo this site link has info on size, paining and scale plans. I cut up the kit ammo to fit to some brass shells but didi not work, so project is stalled awaiting ammo.
