Hi all

I seem to remember recently a M-L member mentioning that the blanking-disc fitting for the 'sometime absent' StuG IIIG rundumsfeuer of the period March-July 44 differed between Alkett and MIAG. Is this true? Was it all a dream? Is it Altzheimer's?

Hi Ron,

Mueller and Zimmerman note that the opening for the close-in defense weapon was authorized for May 1944 for both factories but if I'm reading the text correctly the first acceptance for a Miag vehicle with the feature was May 1944 while for Alkett it was July of that year.

I seem to remember a difference in the actual fitting mentioned. I'll wait and see...

Hi Ron. The Müller & Zimmermann book says:
- Alkett closed off the rundumsfeuer opening from inside. There insnt any screw sign (05.1944-09.1944)
- MIAG closed off the rundumsfeuer opening from outside with 4 screw which we can see its from outside(05.1944-09.1944).

Saludos desde Córdoba.
