I've decided to stop build Shermans and finished my first Dragon halftrack with the conversion. Now that I am done, I predict this would be the next Dragon release:) Thanks.

Albert,

You don't mention what conversion you're using. What is it? It looks excellent.

it is a dual conversion set for the halftrack modification and a Sd.Kfz. 234 armored car. Here is a build and some data I have posted on OTW:http://www.onthewaymodels.com/reviews/M ... T72073.htm

nice build and camo!
I don;t see the ammo boxes though. Did you fit them in and if so, did you have to modify them to fit? I had to sand them don a lot to fit inside my 234 conversion:http://www.onthewaymodels.com/reviews/M ... T72073.htm

I've been trying to find one of these in the UK with a seller who accepts PayPal.....Not much luck.

By any chance might someone have a spare Modelltrans conversion set that they would be willing to part with?

TIA & All the best
PS - Fantastic model, we're kind of coming to expect them from you now!

Hello George, Tony and Andrew,

Thanks for your comments. This is not from a conversion kit, but scratch building. I will try to finish this up with some figure conversion then post it at Henk's website. Basically, I started with a resin cast of the flak gun, copy from Roden's Sd kfz 234/1 (I did it with a two part clay silicon mold). Then replace the berrel with Evergreen sticks. The next challenge is the shield. I tried cut aluminum can but it fell apart when I fold it. So I eventually did it with plastic - using scrap parts.

That's a very nice model. Hasegawa 234's are the best in my opinion because everything fits together so well. The camo starts with an ambush scheme then I saw the instruction sheet for the Dragon 1/35th scale model.

Thanks for the compliment! Have been on a 'break' for a while now because I am doing some home renovations (upgrading my basement for more useable space and a better hobby area.

Have you tried just ordering the conversion set direct from Peter-Paul? That's how I get most of my ModellTrans stuff, others I get lucky sometimes on e-bay. Here is his site:http://www.modelltrans.de/home/

and e-mail: modelltrans@arcor.de

cheers,
Tony

and I was wondering why your barrel wasn;t brass like mine was.. your scratch looks good so far!

Do a Google for the drilling, there you will get many good detail shots for the gun and mount (if you need them).
