Trumpeter kits were around 20 bucks? Who told them we would pay more? Who ratted us out?

if you consider what the cost of a 12 ton and 88 would be seperately. Maybe $ 90.00,huh? Next, divide the conversion work time(which has already been done;thank you,Trumpeter)by 6.274 and add 2,476;then add 16 and you get a pretty good deal........Dan

manufacturer's kits. I agree, if you pay retail it is financial suicide. I may pay retail once or twice a year...if I am pushed that is.

Just my reaction when I saw the price of the Trumpy kit. I think my heart skipped a beat for a moment.

Personally, I think some marketing dude told these manufacturers that the target market for their products are baby boomers who have all this spare cash on hand now that the kids are all grown up and on their own and they have the house and 2 cars paid for. Why else would someone charge these kinds of prices for a few dollars worth of plastic including the packaging? Oh wait perhaps its those guys that pay $300 for a Cybhobby Whittman or DAK Tiger yeah yeah maybe those guys are the rats?????

I have a enough in the stash to build for 8-10 years, it's a hobby not a job, new kits break my bank big time, though if I needed/wanted a new kit it would not be at the retail price...last "new" kit I bought and I paid retail was a 1/72nd plane. Mike

They are not the place to look for super deals... Even Tower Hobbies is cheaper than SB on that kit and their turn around time on an order is about the same. When Lucky gets the kit in stock it will probably be a good $20 cheaper.

But the shipping will make up the difference, almost.
