Panzer IV B \ C ad on armour question

The Tristar kits of the Panzer IV B & C have this additional armour for the hull front in the box. My question is when did the Germans start making this upgrade on the B & C. I remember reading somewhere it was done before Barbarossa but I can't find that source any more and my Spielberger is silent on the subject.
Its strange they didn't fit more additional armour like they did on the Panzer IV D.

Ray

Ray,

Not much help as I don't have a specific date, all that I could find was "After the French Campaign".

Fitted from Feb 1941.
So some Ausf B & C had them in the Balkans and during Barbarossa.

....but be careful!
The kit includes the additional armour plate on the hull front (the parts K1 and K2), which were a feature since Feb 1941. The instruction sheet mentions K1 as optional for the later ausf C, but seems to say K2 is a standard part of all Cs. You should build the kit either with both parts on, or without.

The February date gives me some more options for my Pz IV C build. I need to fit the additional armour to hide some fit issues.
