...

??? is it necessary to apply lacquer primer to the metal gunbarrels, being sold now , before applying color coat ???

[ When I was in "the NAV", many years ago, all exterior surfaces required a coating of red-lead or yellow-chromate before applying the GREY enamel ...]

[ Excepting the lower hull, which received a coating of anti-fouling green ...]

I'm not sure if it is necessary, but I spray all media with self-etching primer.

Walmart automotive or any auto parts or hardware store. It runs ~$8 a can.
