What would the most common types of KV-1 tanks had been during the battle for Kharkov winter 42-43? I suspect various 1942 versions but does anyone have more specific information? Would any KV-1S had been present?

Hi Daniel,

The KV-1S first appeared in September 1942 and 624 were delivered by the end of 1942, so the KV-1S would very likely have been present at the battles around Kharkov in the winter.

There would also have been a bunch of Model 1942s present(squared off rear hull overhang) and possibly some earlier models and 'franken-tank' rebuilds that combined features from various models.

Hope this helps...

Neil

Well, I came to the same assumptions. But I was hoping to find someone who had more detailed information about the matter. Thanks nevertheless!
