what would have to be changed to make the A3 into an A2.I know about the light on the glace but anything else. I don't want to use a Tamiya kit as I figure the Meng kit is much better.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

You need to remove all the A3 parts. Firstly, build it without the CITV (large structure on turret right rear). In its place, add back a vision block. Add back a full-length turret bustle rack. You also need to remove all the added armor plates on the hull and turret top. Remove the DVE (Driver's Vision Enhancer) on the front glacis plate. Around the driver's hatch are a couple of added bars that protect the hatch that need to be removed. Also, around the turret base are a series of guards that need to be removed. Etc, etc, etc.

I am sure I missed some other features as well. Basically, you would need to strip the hull back to nothing like in the Tamiya and Academy M2A2 kits.

It would be better and easier to add the M3 specific parts (roof-top TOW loader's hatch and rear ramp without gun ports) to an Academy M2A2 kit to make it an M3A2.

Looks like that's what I will do.

Thanks for the info.

If you mean would that make it an M3A2 ODS vehicle from the late '90s to early '00s, then yes.

If you mean would it make it a vehicle used in ODS (Operation Desert Storm, '90-'91), then no.
