any advice on how to shape a canvas mantlet cover from epoxy. I made an attempt to do one on my M48 by filling the gap between turret and mantlet with the putty and sculpting some creases into it. It looks so so, but I'm not sure if there is a better (read: right) way to do it

You need to get an embossing tool, preferably a two sided one (one small 1 smaller). They look sort of like needles with a ball on each end and you can find them at art supplie stores.
