Guys
whats the best way to build an original hard top version of the Tamiya kit
before they chopped the roof off of it
Is there a kit available I cant find one so I presume no kit
all help welcome

Yes, Italeri works, a friend Howard has done it too, and cast it off in plastic.

Go for the Italeri cab.

Here goes mine from nearly 20 years back. A derelict Italeri GMC was the donor for the doors, but rest of the cab had to be scratchbuilt.

Made a couple of errors: windscreen bit too narrow and wide mudguards.

Chevys fitted with the WD-type 9.00 x 16" rim and tyre (like in the Tamiya kit) had wider mudguards than the ones fitted with commercial wheels and tyres.

This type would need to narrow the mudguards to the original shape (around 2-3mm of material taken from a centerline below the headlights and then reshaping).



When ICM got their german Fords, I was hoping for the same company or someone else to bring some of the many commercial Fords, Chevys and Dodges so typical from the Allied side.
