black? Black pants and khaki/green top? Mix and match colors? Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks Mike

The basic uniform was same as other branches of the army at this time. Generally some shade of Khaki/green blouse and trousers. There were no general issue trousers in black, only protective over garments were in this color such as coveralls. These were also in other shades of gray and khaki as well. You also see some use of a short, waist length jacket in a black rubberized material being worn with late war tank crews. There is a complementing pair of trousers, gauntlets in this material as well, but you much more often see the jacket worn singularly. Still, the most common uniform was the standard blouse and trousers worn under coveralls.
