Can somebody point me to a step by step guide on painting things like bedrolls, tarps, knapsacks, etc.? I really like the Steve Zaloga "style" for these sorts of things, but I haven't really seen a good run-down of how he does what he does.

Steve, if you're reading this, can you share some pointers?

If you want guidance on the "Zaloga style," I would recommend that you just go to the source and check out his Osprey Master Modelclass book: Modeling US Armor of World War 2. In the book he provides a whole chapter on US stowage-- using resin parts, forming out of epoxy, and his style of painting.
