Have M1A1 and HMMV, need idea

I have an M1A1 and an HMMV that I wanted to put into diorama form for an upcoming art show at my university. I was looking for a possible design or ideas of how they could be setup so they were interesting to the casual observer (I doubt most of the folks at my school are hardcore armor fans). I was thinking of something during Desert Storm, but was uncertain of a good layout or design as this will be my first diorama. Any help that you folks could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot and happy modelling,

Jeff

..."Coffee break..." as an idea. If the Hummer is a cargo rig, you could depict a vehicle of the unit's
S-1 or S-4 shop delivering the mail or some coffee. Just a thought. HTH, Dave

I was looking for something unique and different that others can relate to, and that's a pretty good idea. Thanks for taking the time to answer my post and happy modelling.

Honestly, most times conventional softskins and armor don't mix in the combined-arms battlefield if there is any threat.

So how about:

"Special Ops meets Conventional Ops."
Special Ops: No armor and small arms.
Conventional Ops: Heavy armor and Big Gun.

or

"Go anywhere but at different costs."
Meaning both the HMMWV and M1A1 can tackle the same terrain but at different costs and speeds.

or

"Welcome, Big Brother."
Another pun from the Spec Ops in the HMMWV.

or

"The power at the NTC: Size doesn't matter"
Meaning the referees at the NTC drive the Humvees and have the right to "kill" tanks by just pointing a laser at them.

HTH,
Pete

Some thoughts on times when you will see Hummer's together with tanks. A Commander or 1SG may be "visiting", mechanics/motor pool may be delivering parts (or themselves!), could be a tank passing through an MP checkpoint or visa versa, MP's could be providing escort (MPs will often drive in front of tanks on civilian roads to help clear traffic or slow it down, esp. in Europe), a HMMWV could be deliving some hot chow. Basically, think of any logistics support you can see an M1 and it's crew needing and you can probably come up with a scenario where a HMMWV delivers it there.

Cheers,
Chris K.
